Sport
All classes are actively involved in a sporting program each week. This includes coordination skills, games, athletics, aquatics, dance, gymnastics and learning about a healthy and active lifestyle.
Swimming, Athletics and Cross Country are our three major sports carnivals in the school year. They are fun and active days for all children, encouraging participation and sportsmanship. All children are expected to participate at a school level.
Other opportunities to become involved in sport are:
- Gala Days (soccer, netball, basketball, rugby league, cricket)
- NSW Primary Schools Basketball Championships
- Representative Sport
Student Representative Pathways
Each year outstanding sporting students (ie playing in the highest division possible) in Yrs 5 and 6 are given the opportunity to nominate for the chance to attend Diocesan Sports Trials. Trials are held for Basketball, Netball, Soccer, Rugby League, Rugby Union, Tennis, Touch, Hockey, Softball and Cricket.
The representative pathway for Catholic Primary School students is as follows: School-based Carnivals/Trials > Diocesan Carnivals/Trials > NSW Mackillop Carnivals/Trials > NSW PSSA State Carnivals > Australian Championships (School Sport Australia).
