Gifted Education

square16Learners who are gifted have the ability or potential to operate at levels far beyond their age peers.  Learners may be gifted in many ways, however four key domains in which students many be gifted are:

  • intellectual
  • creative
  • social
  • physical

Good Samaritan School aims to foster creative engagement, high expectations and life-enhancing relationships for gifted learners.  Identifying and catering to the needs of these students forms part of our commitment to pastoral care.

Developing the potential of gifted students requires planned individual intervention which may involve:

  • differentiation within the classroom
  • opportunities for growth outside the classroom
  • a variety of grouping strategies
  • acceleration by subject or grade
  • modified reporting procedures
